I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. I graduated from Bartram Trail High school in 2007. Instead of going straight to college after high school, I became a Rotary International Exchange Student. September 2, 2007 I left the United States for the first time in my life to live in another country for an entire year where I didn't know anyone or speak the language. For that year I went to an Italian high school and lived with two amazing host families in Cremona, Italy. That experience has forever changed the person I am, not only by learning a new language, but more importantly learning to look at other cultures in a different perspective.
Once I returned to the United States in June 2008 I went through reverse culture shock and prepared for college. As a freshman volunteering with UGA Relay For Life quickly became a passion of mine causing me to realize that advertising and volunteering are where my passions lie. I am now on the Executive Board and Chair of the Graphics Committee. The reason that I Relay is not only for my grandfather, but also because I know that we are making a difference in people's lives everyday. The money we raise for the American Cancer Society doesn't only go to research, but also gives people a place to stay while having treatments halfway across the country from their homes or towards Camp Sunshine, a summer camp for children with cancer. I Relay so that in the future no one will have hear the words "You have cancer" ever again.
I am now a Junior at the University of Georgia, majoring in Advertising with a minor in Italian.
I can be contacted at [email protected]
